It has been a LONG time since I wrote a blog post, and that is mainly because things have been so busy. But I hope to be all caught up on posts by the end of the week.
The weather has been very bizarre this spring. One day it might be 80 degrees and the next day it might be in the mid 50's. But this crazy weather pattern has not stopped us from having fun. Here are some of things we have been up to the past month...
Old Stein Inn Dinner!!
Back on April 7th, we met up with the Nelsons, Bloughs, and Ackermanns for a delicious German meal. Since we met up on a Sunday afternoon, the restaurant was not crowded and we were able to occupy the rear of the restaurant. This was good, because we knew all of the crazy kids would not annoy any diners around us.

Grammy's Birthday!!
On April 11th, I brought the Bear down to Salisbury to surprise Grammy for her birthday. L'ie helped me pick out a fun birthday balloon and it even played music whenever you hit it. Obviously, this became a fun toy for L'ie Bear and she quickly learned how to hit the balloon to hear music. Let the dancing and singing commence!!!
Then, that Saturday, the 13th, Grammy, Grumpa, Chad, Ryan, L'ie Bear and I all met up in Annapolis for a birthday lunch. We enjoyed some food at Rams Head Tavern and went for a nice walk downtown. We even stopped to feed the ducks, which was one of L'ie Bear's favorite parts.

Shake Shack & Cherry Blossoms!!
Chad, L'ie Bear and I decided to hit up Shake Shack, and since we were already in DC, we drove by the cherry blossoms on the way home. The food was great. The Bear LOVED the milkshakes at Shake Shack. And the cherry blossoms were beautiful. We did not stop and get out, because it was very crowded, but we were still able to get a great view of the flowering trees!!

Shafer Invasion 2013!
On April 19th, Pat and Elizabeth Shafer came over to kick of the Shafer Invasion 2013! Elizabeth had a softball tournament down the street from our place and they stayed with us to save on traveling time. That Friday evening, Pat, E, Chad, Lauren and I headed to Matchbox for dinner. It was pretty crowded. We were up pretty late. But we had a great time.

The next few days, we headed to the softball fields to take in some softball. L'ie Bear was not overly excited about watching the actual games. She and Matthew decided it was more fun to play in the dirt behind the stands. But, once E was done playing, the Bear enjoyed following her around.

It was a lot of fun and we are looking forward to the Shafer Invasion 2014!!
Bear's Vacation in Salisbury!!
On April 24th, L'ie Bear and I headed to Salisbury. Mee-maw had a hearing for a traffic ticket, which was thrown out, and then I needed to drop the Bear off for over a week. I was scheduled to have a 7 day jury trial on April 29th, and I did not want to worry about daycare issues during the trial. So, L'ie was scheduled to spend some quality time with Grumpa, Grammy, Grandpa, Mee-maw, Aunt Sarah and Kevin.
It turns out the charges against my client were dropped, so Chad and I enjoyed a week of alone time. It was nice for a few days, but we definitely missed L'ie and were ready for her to come home!!
Meanwhile, L'ie Bear was busy enjoying cupcakes, trips to the park/zoo, gardening, playing sports, and bubble baths!!

Cinco De Mayo Playdate!!
L'ie Bear came home on May 4th, and the next day we headed to the Blough's house for a Cinco De Mayo playdate. The Bear (and her mommy) could not stop eating the chips & queso dip, and all of the kids seemed to have a great time hanging out together. Towards the end of the playdate, Lauren, Jack and Sophie decided to kick/throw balls off of the balcony. It seemed like a fun idea at the time, until they realized that they could not get the balls back.

But, Laura brought out the iPad and the balls were all forgotten (by the kids at least)

It has been quite an eventful month! We have been fortunate to spend quality time with friends, family and each other! And this summer, I am sure will be equally as eventful. I am looking forward to seeing what fun the future brings!!
