Chocolate, Bunnies, Eggs, Hats...and More Chocolate!

Even though it arrived early, Easter was so much fun this year!

On Wednesday, March 27th, Chad, L'ie Bear and I dyed some Easter Eggs.  L'ie did not participate too much, other than to watch Chad and I place eggs in a weird colored solution.  She was certainly curious, but was not quite ready to get her hands dirty.  Given that it has been close to 25 years since we both dyed eggs, I think they turned out pretty good.

On Friday, March 29th, Chad, L'ie Bear, Wrigley and I headed to Salisbury for the weekend.  We arrived close to the Bear's bedtime, so we gave her something to eat and put her to bed.

The next morning, we all headed over to Rockawalkin United Methodist Church for the annual Easter Egg Hunt.

After that Easter Egg hunt, we headed back to the Fisher's house, put L'ie Bear down for a nap, and prepared for another Easter Egg hunt in their backyard.  Chad, Uncle Ryan and Grumpa hid a TON of plastic eggs and some "Beauty & The Beast" figurines, and then we unleashed the Bear.

SO many baskets!!

The next morning, I took L'ie Bear back to Rockawalkin United Methodist Church for Easter service.  She sat with Mee-maw, Aunt Sarah and I, and she was extremely well behaved.  In addition to "singing" along with the choir, she spent most of the time paging through one of the hymn books.

We then went back to the Fisher's house to celebrate Easter.  After a LONG nap, L'ie Bear woke up and spent the rest of the afternoon with Grumpa, Grammy, Uncle Ryan, Mee-maw, Aunt Sarah, Kevin, Chad and I.  Unfortunately, Grandpa was sick and could not join us.

Look what the Easter Bunny brought!!

So much neat stuff.

Enjoying an Easter cookie.  These brought back memories of
celebrating Easter at my Gram's house when I was younger.

Her first taste of Jelly Beans.
She loved them.

As you can see, it was quite a fun day!  The things I will remember most about this Easter are:

1.  L'ie Bear wore multiple hats throughout the weekend, and insisted on keeping the hats on.
2.  L'ie Bear snuck off during dinner to munch on some of her Easter Chocolate.  (It took us a little while to figure out what she was eating and where she got it...such a little sneak)!
3.  L'ie Bear developed quite a knack for hunting Easter Eggs.  At one point in the Rockawalkin Egg Hunt, she put down her basket so that she could use both hands to pick up eggs.

We finished Easter Sunday with a delicious dinner and watched L'ie Bear play with her Easter gifts.  Unfortunately, we also had to head back to Fairfax that evening, and it was quite a late night for Chad, L'ie and I.  But, I know the Bear enjoyed herself this year and I am already looking forward to her next Easter!!
