To start, L'ie discovered where we keep Wrigley's food and found great joy in feeding him....over and over and over. Whenever it was quiet in the house, I would get suspicious, look for the Bear, and find her digging for food in the front hall closet. And of course, a very happy Wrigley would be planted right behind her.

L'ie also found new play clothes this past week. While I was looking for coloring books in the $1 section, the Bear nearly climbed out of the shopping cart in an attempt to get to a purple hat. She wore the hat the entire shopping trip and hardly takes it off around the house.
Meanwhile, Chad recently bought me some Maryland Pride socks, and he could not resist putting them on L'ie Bear. They were large enough to act as socks/leg warmers and she loved them!

Finally, L'ie went to her first basketball game. We saw the Lady Terps play Duke, which is where our parenting fail came in. The night before, Chad and I went out with friends, while Grandpa and Mee-maw watched the Bear. The next morning, we napped/showered, L'ie went shopping with her grandparents, and then we headed out to the game.
There were quite a few people at the game, so we parked at a parking garage and walked 20 minutes to the Comcast Center. We found seats where there was room for L'ie to move around and settled in. About 5 minutes into the game, L'ie Bear sat on Grandpa's lap and he observed that her diaper was beyond full. And that is when I realized I left the diapers back in our car. So I walked around and searched for diapers. (Note: there are no diapers in the Comcast Center) I even asked another mother if I could have a diaper, but she did not have any to spare.
So it came down to...
1. Someone walking the 20 minutes back to the car to pick up a diaper, walking the 20 minutes back to the game, and then buying another ticket to get into the game, since there was a no re-admittance policy, or;
2. Trying to figure out a way to MacGyver a diaper for L'ie Bear.
We ended up with a mixture of the two. And here is how it all went down...I got ahold of an extra large Maxi pad, took the Bear into the bathroom, removed the extremely full diaper, and attached the Maxi pad to her pants. L'ie seemed to enjoy the feeling of being semi-commando, and she spent quite a bit of time at the game squatting/moving her diaper free bottom from side to side. She happily clapped along with the other fans and enjoyed watching the players and other people at the game.
It appeared that we had this whole "parenting" thing down and had tackled the problem, until halfway through the 2nd half, when she peed and ended up with a soaking wet pair of pants, socks and boots.
At that point, Chad took L'ie Bear back to the car, where there was a clean diaper and a clean pair of pants. Grandpa, Mee-maw and I watched the remaining few minutes of the game and met them back at the garage. We were hungry and decided to go to Hard Times for dinner. We didn't want to carry L'ie around with bare feet, so Chad went in search of some socks. I suppose it was appropriate that he came back with the only pair of socks he could find...women's socks.

Although it was really fun to watch L'ie Bear at the game, the day could have gone much better. Luckily, no one was hurt by this failure and I now have diapers/wipes in every bag I use. She might have been confused about the lack of a diaper, but in the end, she had on a clean diaper, dry pants and warm socks. We were even able to laugh about it all at dinner. And through all of this, L'ie never once complained. She enjoyed the game and took it all in stride. What a trooper!!!!
