Valentine's Day 2013

This year, we celebrated Valentine's Day over a period of a few days.  On February 13th, L'ie Bear and I met up with Chad for lunch and a trip to the Build-a-Bear store.  Since the Bear loves her stuffed animals, we decided she would get a big kick out of building one herself.  And she certainly enjoyed herself.  She kept walking around the store and we finally had to settle her down to decide upon a bear.  (Note: you may notice the stethoscope around L'ie Bear's neck.  She refused to take it off prior to leaving the house and kept it on the entire trip.  Future doctor perhaps?!?)

L'ie went with a basic teddy bear, which looked a lot like her favorite bear, Clark.  Then, we picked out a sound to put inside the bear.  While we liked the classic giggle sound, we had to go with "The Way You Are" by Bruno Mars.  This was the song we used in her 1st Year Video and it really was a no-brainer!

Next up, L'ie had to kiss a heart before placing it inside her bear.  She made sure to give it some extra L'ie Bear magic, and handled the heart quite a bit...rubbing it on her head and over her face.  Now that the bear was stuffed, L'ie needed to give it a bath.  This was by far her favorite station and we spent quite a bit of time  there.  In fact, L'ie remained at the bath station while Chad and I debated on an outfit for the bear.  We settled on a Washington Nationals shirt.

To finish off the experience, L'ie had to register her bear.  We named her Harper, after Bryce Harper, #34, for the Washington Nationals.  Once this was done, L'ie insisted on carrying Harper out of the store and through the mall to lunch.  And she hasn't stopped carrying Harper around since.

VALENTINE'S DAY & DINNER

On Valentine's Day, L'ie Bear and I ran quite a few errands during the day and then she took a nice long nap before Chad got home.  Once she woke up, we exchanged gifts.  Just like last year, Chad brought us roses...eleven for me and one for L'ie.  Then, the Bear opened up a new Choo Choo Train set from Chad & I and a bunch of little gifts from Grumpa & Grammy.  She especially enjoyed the chocolate treats!!

Once the gifts were opened, we cleaned up and headed out to dinner at our favorite Mexican Restaurant.  Chad and I enjoyed a special dinner for two and L'ie Bear enjoyed her usual...chips/salsa and refried beans. We also had a great time listening and "dancing" along to the live Mariachi Band.

I could not have asked for a better Valentine's Day and I just hope that L'ie Bear enjoyed the day as well.  While it is important to tell your loved ones how you feel every day, a special day to reinforce your love is never a bad thing!!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY L'IE BEAR....MOM & DAD LOVE YOU VERY MUCH!!!
