This past weekend, Aunt Sarah and Kevin came up for a visit. They babysat the Bear on Friday, so I could go to a meeting and then we spent all day together on Saturday. It was quite a packed day, complete with yummy food, sports, naps and even the Bear's first haircut.
THE GERMAN GOURMET - Saturday morning, we woke up and headed out to do some grocery shopping at our favorite German store in the area. The Bear and I picked up some German chocolates, Brotchen and deli meat. Aunt Sarah and Kevin bought one of
everything. Then we headed back home for a nice big breakfast...followed by naps and watching the Maryland Basketball game on tv (Chad was at the game with some friends from college).

FIRST HAIRCUT - Once L'ie Bear woke up from her nap, Aunt Sarah and I whisked her off for her first haircut. Lately, the hair in the back of her head has been growing quickly, while the hair on top and on the sides has not grown very fast...resulting in a world class mullet. And while the Bear can absolutely pull off that look, I decided it was time for a trim.
So, we went to Cartoon Cuts in the Fair Oaks mall, where they had little tvs in front of each chair that played cartoons. The Bear watched Dora The Explorer during her haircut and did very well. And her hair looks so much better now. I was worried that once we cut her hair, we would lose her slight curls, but they are still there!

Nothing like a taste of milkshake to keep her seated towards the end.

CHAD'S HOCKEY GAME - After her haircut, we picked up Kevin and headed down the street for Chad's hockey game. Within two minutes of arriving, we watched Chad take a puck down the ice, fake out the goalie, and score. L'ie Bear missed the goal, since she wasn't watching the game at that point, but she still put her arms in the air and cheered. Then we took turns watching the Bear and watching Chad's game. For most of the game, L'ie either ran around or tried to fit inside a locker. Chad's team won and L'ie had fun running around, so I would call it a success.

Do you think I can fit in there?

A LITTLE PLAYTIME IN THE SNOW - It snowed while we were at the game, so L'ie Bear, Aunt Sarah and Kevin were able to play in the white stuff for a bit when we got home.

After a fun weekend, Aunt Sarah and Kevin headed out Sunday morning and this is the view Chad and I had as they pulled away.

It is clear that L'ie Bear really enjoyed spending time with her Aunt Sarah and Kevin and we hope it won't be too long before we can do this again.
