The Bear Gets Summered!!

The summer of 2012 has been really good to L'ie Bear...especially July and August.

JULY

In July, the Bear and I had quite a busy few weeks.  Before we headed out, we enjoyed a Crab Feast at a friend's house (Michelle Folsom), where L'ie tried her hand at Corn Hole for the first time.  Hopefully she will be better than her mom!

Then we headed to Salisbury for a week where we had a mini Brown/Pali family reunion and L'ie spent some time with Grammy and Grumpa Fisher.  The Bear even read one of her many books on the ride down.

AUGUST

During the first weekend of August, Chad, L'ie Bear and I met up with some friends for our annual "You Got Summered" beach trip.  Unfortunately we were only able to swing a long weekend in Ocean City this year.  But it was very relaxing and fun getting to spend time with everyone.

Although L'ie Bear has played in the water before, this was her first time in a swimming pool.  There was a kiddie pool, which was perfect for her.  She was able to knee walk around and she even dipped her head under water (although that was not on purpose)!  I think we have a future swimmer on our hands.  And by the end of the day, she was so exhausted that she barely made it through story time with Chad.

And although the pool was a lot of fun, it did not compare to the time she got to spend with all of the kiddos.  She enjoyed playing with Ella on the playmat, and watching Matthew.  She also loved spending time with E, who has proven she will be an excellent babysitter in the near future.  And in an effort to keep up with the big kids, she even got her first tattoo!

We ended the vacation with a group dinner at Fishtails, on the bay, and then L'ie Bear and I headed back home to Fairfax.

It was a perfect July and a great start to August, which is not over yet.  L'ie Bear has gone on many more adventures this month, and you will have to stay tuned to find out what happened next.
