1. The Bear has begun to walk; and
2. The Bear definitely has quite a bit of Pali in her!!
Although, L'ie took her first 3 steps back on June 19, 2012, she did not really walk again for a few months. Instead she began her infamous "knee walking", which apparently is an unusual way for a toddler to get around. Chad and I certainly do not know of any other child who has perfected this form of movement, but we love our creative little mover.

Then the Bear began to walk while pushing her baby stroller or holding our hands, which was so cute and sweet. Occasionally, she would let go and take a few steps on her own. However, she did not move far and was not consistently letting go.

But this past week, just 3 weeks shy of the 18 month mark, L'ie Bear has consistently begun to walk. This is not surprising to the Pali side of the family, since I did not begin to walk until I was 18 months old and Aunt Sarah was around 16 months old. But we are certainly excited that she has reached this important milestone!
And now that L'ie has taken off on her own, she isn't looking back.

Well maybe she looks back every now and then!!
Now that L'ie is on the move, I enjoy watching her move and Chad wishes he could duct tape her to a chair and never watch her grow up. It is sad that she does not particularly want to sit still anymore and does not like being held as much, but it is still wonderful to see her change before our eyes.
These first steps might be small and unsteady, but they are a giant leap for her development. And I could not be more proud!!

Way to go Bear! I know your parents feel proud. It's a very special milestone.
