2 Months Until a Birthday Celebration!

Technically today is not L'ie Bear's 10 month birthday.  It was nearly a week ago.  I meant to blog earlier, but got caught up frantically knitting some things for a friend's new baby.  Now that I have completed that project, I can sit down and talk about the Bear!

L'ie Bear in her rocking chair!

L'ie Bear may not be crawling yet (and it probably will not happen anytime soon either), but she has still reached some new milestones this month.

1.  Going for rides with Grumpa.  She loved it, but Wrigley was not so sure!  And Grumpa Fisher even invented a seatbelt (which also doubled as a strap to pull her back) for her set of wheels.  Safety first!!!

2.  Her First time in Illinois and meeting more family!  Unfortunately, my Uncle Barry passed away and we had to travel to Galesburg, IL for the funeral.  It was unexpected and very sad.  But the good part of the trip was getting to see so many family members and introducing them to L'ie Bear.  While we were there, she skipped many naps and was up WAY past her bedtime, but she was still such a sweet little girl and quite the trooper.  I really love that she is able to go with the flow.

3.  Her first time on an airplane.  Since we were headed to Galesburg for the funeral, we decided to fly into Chicago.  I was especially nervous about the flight, and had no clue what to expect.  We made sure to bring a bottle for her to drink during take-off and landing, and L'ie was such a great baby during both flights to and from IL.  It also helped that my parents and sister were with us, because we could pass her around to keep her occupied, and now Chad and I know that we can handle any air traveling in the future.

4.  Her first time experiencing Steak n Shake and White Castle.  Once we arrived in Illinois, we decided to enjoy some midwest food joints.  And no trip home to IL is complete without a stop at Steak n Shake or, in Chad's opinion, a stop at White Castle.  The Bear enjoyed a few bites of french fries from Steak n Shake and also a little bit of a burger from White Castle.  She is definitely Chad's daughter, because she really liked the burger.

5.  And finally, her first time playing with bubbles.  Once we arrived back home, it took a few days to get L'ie Bear back into her routine.  She was able to catch up on some much needed sleep and play with all of her own toys again.  We even broke out the bubbles.  In the beginning she was amazed and just stared at them.  Then she began to try to catch them.  But the best part was when Wrigley decided to play along as well.  He would try to eat the bubbles and the Bear would just giggle.  It was very cute to see.

So after experiencing all of that, I am glad we did not add crawling to the list of milestones this month, which has been quite eventful on it's own!  =)  Thanks to our last minute trip to Galesburg, I realized that it was much more hectic and nerve-racking than our trips before L'ie Bear was born, but I would not have had it any other way.  Who knew such a little person could change our lives and turn our world upside down...but luckily for us, it has been a wonderful change!!

Happy 10 Month Birthday L'ie Bear!
